Photographing your party? The Game Coach may take a few shots from inside the trailer and we sometimes post them. Tell the coach before the event starts if you would rather we did not — we never name guests or give exact locations either way.

Two hours, in the order they happen
Most people have never seen a mobile game trailer up close. Here is what the photographs above are actually showing.

It arrives and parks
A pickup tows a 32-foot enclosed trailer to the curb, usually across the end of the driveway. The coach is there about thirty minutes before the start time, so setup happens before the first guest does. From the street it reads as a wrapped trailer with the Vegas Gamerz mark down the side — the neighbours will know something is happening.

The awning comes out
One long side opens up and an awning extends over the pavement, which is where the two outdoor stations live. That awning is the difference between a summer party working and not working: eight players stay in shade rather than standing in 108 degrees waiting for a turn inside.

Inside fills first
The interior is a single long room with cushioned stadium benches down one wall facing eight 4K screens, lit with neon and LED strips and air conditioned hard. Twenty players sit inside. In the photographs it looks smaller than it is, because there is no way to get far enough back with a phone.

The coach runs it
One trained Game Coach loads the games, sets the controllers up, teaches whoever needs teaching and rotates players so nobody sits out for long. In most of these photographs the adults are somewhere else entirely, which is the point.

Then it gets dark
The night shots are the ones people send us afterwards. Lighting inside is neon and laser rather than overhead white, so an evening booking looks completely different from an afternoon one — worth knowing when you pick a start time.
